Out of class, into adventure!
By Zoe Hermann
Spring break is here—that magical week where the only assignment is… to not have any assignments! For many of us, this is a mix of excitement, relief, and the sudden realization that we actually have free time. But spring break doesn’t have to just consist of scrolling through your phone, or binge-watching shows (though that’s totally valid); you can make the most of it, whether you want adventure, relaxation, or a little bit of both.
Where do I start? Well… here are some creative ways to spend your Spring break:
Watch a sunrise/sunset: wake up early or stay up late to watch the sky in all its colours
Challenge week: assign a new theme to yourself every day—cooking a new recipe, trying a new activity, or going on a new adventure
Nature break: the weather is just getting brighter, take advantage of it and go on a bike ride, walk, or picnic, relax and reset, even a short walk can recharge your mind and body
Document your week: try journaling, making a photo diary, or recording the little moments, creating a fun keepsakes of your break
Spring break isn’t about doing something new—it’s also a chance to pause. Take a “no rush” day where you ignore clocks, notifications, and schedules. Sleep a little longer, walk somewhere without hurrying or just binge watch a comfort show without guilt.
Slowing down isn’t a waste of time, it’s refueling for the rest of the year.
While many of us are relaxing, our seniors are preparing for the big tests in May and are staying focused. We wish you all the best of luck and hope you get some well-deserved rest as well!
Spring break doesn’t need to be legendary to be worthwhile. The best breaks are the ones where you laugh a little louder, rest a little more, and maybe try something new.
